FINALLY, THE HIP HOP KIDS ARE TAKING ACID

The Flatbush Zombies’ whole crew is sleeping the day away when I enter their crash pad somewhere in Brooklyn. It’s the midafternoon and four dudes are still sprawled out over two oversized mismatched couches under a haze of last night’s stale reefer smoke. From hung-over murmurs, I gather that there are acid tabs in the refrigerator and treasure troves of sour diesel weed hidden like stinky Easter eggs all over the apartment.

Zombie Juice and Meechy Darko, the MC duo that make up the Flatbush Zombies, are in the flophouse’s only bedroom. The tiny room has two bare mattresses on the floor and a single microphone looming in the corner. These are humble digs for a group that has been fawned over by every hip hop site on the web and is getting attention from major labels all on the strength of one really fucking good music video.

SUPER BOOKS
I like this logo because of the typeface and the simplicity. I like the way the text is aligned with the S logoshape. I don’t know if that is the colors they mainly use but I really like those also, very sophisticated and technical to me.

TH?
I decided to post this logo because I liked the simplicity and retro feel of it, and the type. I think this would be a very good logo because it would stand out among others with the simplicity and color.

RADIO
I think this logo is really cool, I like how they look the older elements of the radio and it gives it movement and I can just imagine the radio making that sound. Although I do think the logo could use a little looser kerning.

FAT CAT COFFEE
I like this logo because it has personality, although the execution of it needs some work the cat face isnt as detailed as the cup and the type is soooooooo boring and doesnt match..

FASHION
I like the simplicity of this one and the pop of color in the tie .. I think the type could be kearned out a bit though.

FIREFISH
I like this simplicity of this and the flow of the lines but i think the type should go on the bottom and get rid of the small caps i think it would look just fine in lower case

BLEND
This logo is working really well for me, its fun to look at the shape and see how it flows through and then circles back, and that goes really well with the name. I like how they stuck with just type for this logo its very welcoming.

WINE SEARCHER
I always love logos that put a creative spin on the words as you can tell, this one is really clever how they made the wine bottles into glasses its pretty creative. I think though they should have gone with a darker green possibly, because this reminds me of a green company and a darker would remind me of a wine bottle.

BAT WRITER
like above this is really creative, its a bat and a pen nib its really fun, the only problem I have with this is the typeface, I agree it should be handwritten but that type is kind of scary to me, even though the symbol is a bat I dont think they had to go with a horror-y type. and that line connecting the T and the nib is a little awkward also.
